Prof. Leonida Kerubo is the Ag Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Human Resource and Administration). This announcement was made after the Council announced changes in the University's top leadership. 

On 3rd, June 2026, Prof. John Mande who has moved the Human Resource docket to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs officially handed over to Prof. Leonida Kerubo at the Postgraduate Library Boardroom. 

Present during the handover ceremony were the Directors and Heads of Department of the Units within the DVC, Human resource and Administration docket. 

The University of Nairobi Faculty registrars and central admin representatives, under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Human Resource and Administration, Prof. John Mande engaged in a rigorous two-day workshop reviewing the University's Customer service delivery charter.

From November 14-16, 2025, the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference kicked off in Beijing, under the theme “Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese Without Border.” Nearly 2,000 representatives attended, including officials from national education authorities, international organizations, Chinese and foreign universities, global language and cultural institutions, diplomatic missions in China, experts, scholars, and representatives from enterprises and industries.

The University of Nairobi (UoN) has once again demonstrated its commitment to accountability, efficiency, and academic excellence by achieving an "Excellent" overall grading in the evaluation of its Financial Year (FY) 2024/2025 Performance Contract. The rigorous evaluation exercise, conducted by the State Department for Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring Unit, concluded on November 7, 2025, marking a successful implementation cycle for the institution.

The University of Nairobi officially opened its 8th Annual Research and Innovation Week 2025 on Tuesday, 21st October, 2025 attracting partners and participants from across the country and beyond. The high-profile event was themed, ‘Advancing research and innovation — moving discoveries from the lab to real-world impact in today’s dynamic global landscape.’

The annual sports competition is an important event for identifying and showcasing sports talents at the University of Nairobi.

The university held its annual Staff Performance and Recognition Award Ceremony on Monday, 5th December 2022.   

The Office of the Director Human Resource has announced the call for applications for the Staff Training and Development Fund for the academic year 2022/2023. The applications are received online and the application forms are on the University intranet.
